In the blink of an eye we we were in November. Our lorries have been extremely busy getting everyone stocked up, especially after a fluff of snow hit most areas of the UK midway through the month. After some unusual mild weather this cold snap was a sharp reminder that it's always best to plan ahead and keep stocked up. Despite the snow, our lorries were still able to make all their planned deliveries and it didn't stop play for many customers either, with the lovely snowy picture here taken on the gallops by National Hunt Trainer Kim Bailey.
We were delighted to see Baillie Haylage customer Kim Bailey kick off November with a fantastic class 1 win at Ascot with Chianti Classico at top weight. Success didn't stop there though as he toted up an additional 8 wins before the month was out. We are proud suppliers to many within the racing industry, and many of the flat racing trainers we supply also had numerous wins during November, congratulations to George Boughey, Amy Murphy, David Simcock, Alice Haynes, John Butler, T J Kent, Dubai Racing and James Ferguson.
Now would seem a good point to announce that this December, we are launching a fundraiser in partnership with the Injured Jockeys Fund (IJF). The Injured Jockeys Fund provides financial assistance and rehabilitation to jockeys who have suffered life-changing injuries while pursuing their profession. The importance of the Injured Jockeys Fund to the racing community cannot be overstated, as it offers crucial support to injured jockeys and their families during challenging times. Many of our customers within the racing industry are donating 50p per bale on their December orders, and Baillie Haylage will be matching that donation £1 for £1. If you are interesting in supporting this cause, you can also donate on our JustGiving page here.
Finally, just a reminder that for the first time this year we have meadow grass in the medium bale size. These weigh approximately 150kg. If you are interested, you can read more about this variety here or give us a call in the office on 01472 398696.
